The Seaport Masters 2012 tournament was played in Delfzijl. Once again Harm Wiersma has managed to organize a top tournament, together with Siep Buurke and Robert van Heukelem.

The World Mind Sport Games have been played in August. After the first successful edition in Beijing (2008) this time it was held in Lille, France. Again many of the world's best players were present. Alexei Chizhov managed to win the men's tournament after a hard battle in the last round with Alexander Schwarzman. In the women's tournament Olga Fedorovich showed that her title last year in the Sport Accord World Mind Games was no accident.
