In August the dutch championship took place in Velp. It was the first time that was played with the ugly 3-0 system. The final standings:

1. M. Dolfing 13-21
2. G. Jansen 13-20
3. R. Clerc 13-19

• van den Akker - Barkel 1-1 (round 2)
• Scholma - Wesselink 1-1 (round 8)

As a side event of the open tournament in Nijmegen, Krajenbrink played a match with the computer program Flits from Adri Vermeulen. It ended in a very surprising 13-7 victory for Flits.

• Flits - Krajenbrink 1-1 (round 5)

Two interesting games I played in 2002, one in the team competition against Clerc, and one in the Dutch semi finals against Teer.
