Two short games
The Russian Championship 2009 was won by GMI Alexander Georgiev, and the tournament in Salou 2009 by GMI Guntis Valneris. We will take a look at two short victories of both players in a gametype with a certain similarity. In both cases their opponents are talented youth players.

In this position white absolutely had to play the active move ≡ 32.27-22 18x27 33.31x22 with an interesting position that isn't necessarily better for black. Why the white plan is deemed to fail becomes clear later on.
